Responsibility

Social Impact

We have made efforts to address some major societal problems associated with coffee production including working with coffee societies to address unfavourable labour practices, low wages, long working hours, no benefits, and child labour.

Environment

We care about the environment. We encourage our farmers to use organic pesticides, to retain their coffee farms as compared to selling for real estate construction and to grow other foods alongside coffee.

Ethical Sourcing

We go beyond fair trade. We source all our coffee directly from the farmers bypassing middle men in the supply chain which means our farmer earn their rightful share of all coffee sales.

Youth and Skill

If coffee is to be sustained as a crop in the generations to come, it must offer a promising future for youth in coffee growing regions. The collaboration between Kenya Coffee Roasters and farmer societies has been cantered in this central challenge and guided by the core question of what is necessary and what solutions are working to make coffee an attractive option, a choice, and not an obligatory last resort for the young people who will grow coffee in the next decades.
